Gonzales Hires Three
Gonzales welcomes three new Probationary Firefighters to the ranks. David Tureau, Micheal Allert and Andrew Landry have chosen a career of service here in Gonzales. The three were hired under probationary status on June 1st, and have been working and attending EMT-Basic school. Also, new contract workers have been given days to cover to bring the regular staffing of Gonzales Fire Department up to seven personnel around the clock. Station 10 now has four personnel on the floor and one District Chief, with the two persons at station 11 making up the rest of the seven. Two of the three are enrolled in an accelerated Emergency Medical class, giving them the opportunity to become Paramedics within a year. The other new hire will finish EMT-Basic class at the end of July and will be attending Louisiana State University Fire and Emergency Training Institute's Fire Academy in October. Gonzales Fire Department would like to once again extend sincere thanks to our Mayor John A. Berthelot and our City Council for making this happen, and for their continued efforts to make Gonzales a wonderful place to live.
